At Here Now Mindfulness we love to be outside, immersed in nature. Is there anything better than a beautiful forest walk among the canopy of trees, hearing bird song and breathing in the smells of the earth, or walking by the sea, hearing the waves crash over shingles, seagulls calling and a unfettered horizon to gaze upon? Perhaps, you can recall a time when nature inspired you and touched your inner being, as you stood by a majestic tree, or listened to a gentle stream.

When we practice mindfulness in nature we learn to become fully present and truly connect with our surroundings; we can begin to feel our innate well-being with the potential to bloom and open, the flow and solidity in nature, present within ourselves. Nature supports our intention to be present, it shows us how to be fully in the moment.

Learning to experience awareness of the breath, the senses, the body, the mind, and the heart in a natural setting gives us greater access to our inner experiences. We are likely to feel more naturally present and curious about our inner landscape when we are supported by a natural landscape.

We know that being in nature can slow the heart rate, reduce levels of stress hormones, and help our brains to orient to calm and natural alertness, all of which are conducive to the practice of mindfulness.

By practicing mindfulness in nature you will begin to feel more fully alive and embodied. Feeling at home in nature can bring a sense of ease, which can help us learn to be present in all aspects of life. Mindfulness in nature gives us the opportunity to awaken to what is within us as well as around us, to heal and live peacefully.

You are warmly invited to join Shashtee individually for a walk, or as a group at a prearranged time. Shashtee will guide you in meditation, forest bathing and support you to experience all the many wonderful benefits of being mindful in nature.
